Volksfest 2012 Part 2

Hello reader(s),

I'm back with more pictures from Volksfest 2012.  I have nothing really else to announce so let's get into it.

Alright I believe I left off with the split window beetles.

Photobucket

The four that were there were all very cool but the beige one was the most interesting. There were so many features I didn't even see the first time I walked around it. I'm glad I made a second pass because I really noticed a lot. Photobucket Photobucket First off this puppy has a Judson supercharger. Photobucket Photobucket Then it had some "mystery oil" in a bottle on the firewall. My theory: methanol for the supercharger, but I've been wrong many times before. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Apparently these are special hub caps unique to split window beetles. Photobucket Photobucket Little fresh air vent action methinks. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Many of the custom beetles were in this section. Photobucket This beetle was incredibly nice. Photobucket Got to throw some love out to the bike parked next to it. But somehow I don't quite believe this next photo. Photobucket If you saw this thing in person there is no way, at least in my mind, it could be a DD. First of all it's black, second it's super low. If it was a daily I have to think that the black paint would show the miles! Again I've been wrong before. Photobucket I really like the lines of lowered 'verts. Photobucket Speaking of nice 'verts... Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket This car was cool. The owner made custom super wide steel wheels for it. I would definitely rock a set if I had a car for them. Photobucket Photobucket This is a guy named Troy's car. I am not usually a fan of something with this custom style. But his car works and is very well done. It has a very Euro-custom look and I don't think it's over the top. Photobucket Photobucket Cool orange. Photobucket If you have the guts to paint it on your car, I'll show it on my website! Photobucket I like this car; classic style lowered. Photobucket There were two very interesting volksrods there. Photobucket This one was very nice to look at. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket I love seeing exposed suspensions of all kinds. Photobucket This blue volksrod was much more loyal, in my mind, to the rat rod style. Photobucket Welds not ground, or well protected it seems. I'm not saying our bus is any better! Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Believe it or not that's only a TV stand! Very classy! Photobucket Photobucket Little GRITTY baby! Photobucket I like this lifted bug. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Low, low. Photobucket This color really looks good on the Ghia, in my opinion. It's not a color I like on many cars. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket This baja is definitely something I really like. Wide street tires and tree bars on a clean lifted body. It's all so contradictory but seems very right. I work part time at an off road shop so I'm used to seeing this type of car whacked and dented, rusting away over knobby tires. Change is good. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket There were two nice trikes at the meet. Nice and trike aren't something that always go together in a sentence so easily haha. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket What a finish. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Got to finish with the buses! Stay tuned. I'll eventually edit and post photos from the Dayton Concours D'Elegance, which I argue is a much better meet than Ault Park. Also I hope sometime soon to unveil my secret part in development, but I'm still stalled at how to make it. I can finally cut the material in a decent manner, but I still can't quite get the shape I need. Cheers!
