I wanted to stop in and share a link that has helped me learn how to tune bicycles big time. It's some Shimano backed Youtube video that shows how to tune a rear derailleur.
Check it out.
The one thing I noticed when working on bikes is that they only seem simple. Really a lot of thought goes in to making them work in a simple way. The contingency is that to work well in their simplistic manner they have to be tuned in correctly or things can get bad fast. It's easy to turn a screw one too many turns and start missing gears and locking up the crank. It gets frustrating. But the above link gives a great starting point.
I will say that a bike stand make's this task even better. I built one from scrap wood not to long ago and showed how on here so check the search and it will come up.
Finally I will leave you with some kind of visual stimulation let me see what I got...

This beetle from the VW-Porsche show was really cool. And yes...I am still unloading these pics.

White and red interior anyone?

One more because I like the shot.
A domani...or next time, however you say that in Italian.
